Hey hey kids, well the Middle Tennessee Anime Convention is out and over. The Battle of the Bands had... um, two bands. I guess the other bands rolled out, supposed to be six. It was a fun crowd. I dig the otaku brethren.
But we finished last in a two man race. DURP. Like I said though, good time though. I'll be getting a video up soon so you can see the crowd getting up and loud. I think they be getting crazy.
Hopefully we play again. We will be dropping a CD soon. If you want keep up with the details, get a copy when its ready (soon soon soon). Please e-mail me at thenonpros@gmail.com if you wanna talk.
Later gators.

NonPro News
The NonPros have a lot of exciting things coming up this Spring:
Friday April 3rd, we play in a Battle of the Bands at the Middle Tennessee Anime Convention. For the contest, we have to play one original song of our choice and one Anime song that the convention chooses for us. Hear their choice for yourself:
Even though this song may not be to everyone's taste, we actually rock out on it, especially considering I know 2 out of the 3 of us had never heard it before.
Friday, April 17th, We play Brunie's during the Rivers and Spires festival. If you've ever been to this festival before, you know it can get crowded downtown. This may also be turned into a CD release party if we complete the final touches on our upcoming album "Music You Can Dance to...or not" in time.
Incidentally, Ben Wilson will be in town that weekend as well, playing Brunie's the next night, Saturday, April 18th. That promises to be a crowded show as well, so get there early for seats both nights.
Saturday, May 2nd, We're playing the 2009 Backyard Jam at The Island, with a bunch of other bands like
THE ANYTHINGS
PASSENGER CREEK
THE TIM LYNCH BAND
JOEL BROWN
JOSH PEYTON BAND
LOGAN MOORE
JEREMY HOLT
and
THE GOOD SIDE.
Good music all day. More info to come on when exactly we play, but it should be a very unique show. The cover is 10 bucks at the door, 5 bucks in advance.
Thanks for reading all, we'll see you at the shows!

Freak Nasty - Alternate Video of Da Dip!
While trolling early '90's Hip Hop on YouTube, I found a crazy, more urban version of Freak Nasty's Da Dip!
I know, fasten your safety belts!
Sure, we all remember the old video with the gray, spray-painted view master and the awesome special effects....
But then I found this other version:
I found this version to be much more true to the vibe of the song. When I saw the ladies dropping low in the high school gym, it reminded me of my high school. Well, not really.
